1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using StarInMyStory ("the Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, do not use the Service. You must be at least 18 years old to create an account.

2. Description of Service

StarInMyStory is an AI-powered platform that creates personalized children's storybooks. Parents upload a child's photo and profile information, and our AI generates custom illustrated stories where the child is the hero. The Service includes:

  • AI-generated story text adapted to the child's age
  • AI-generated illustrations featuring the child as the protagonist
  • Digital book reader with read-aloud narration
  • Print-ready PDF download
  • Optional monthly subscription plans

3. User Accounts

  • You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account credentials
  • You must provide accurate information when creating your account
  • You may not create accounts for others without their consent
  • We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms

4. Child Profiles & Photos

  • You must be the parent or legal guardian of any child whose profile you create
  • You are responsible for providing accurate consent for photo usage
  • You may only upload photos of children for whom you have legal authority
  • You must not upload photos of other people's children without their parent's consent
  • We reserve the right to remove content that appears to violate these guidelines

5. Payments & Pricing

One-Time Purchases

  • Prices are displayed in SGD and charged at the time of checkout
  • Payment is required before book generation begins
  • Prices are based on page count: SGD $20 base (10 pages) + SGD $1 per additional page

Subscriptions

  • Subscriptions are billed monthly through Stripe
  • Unused books do not roll over to the next billing period
  • You may cancel at any time — access continues until the end of the current billing period
  • Price changes will be communicated at least 30 days in advance

Refund Policy

  • If you are unsatisfied with the quality of a generated book, contact support within 30 days
  • We will either regenerate the book with different settings for free, or provide a full refund
  • Subscription refunds are prorated based on unused time in the billing period

6. Content Ownership

  • Your content: You retain ownership of photos you upload and profile information you provide
  • Generated books: Books generated for you are licensed to you for personal, non-commercial use including printing, sharing with family, and gifting
  • Our platform: The StarInMyStory platform, templates, AI models, and technology remain the property of StarInMyStory
  • You may not resell, redistribute, or commercially exploit generated books

7. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

  • Use the Service to generate inappropriate, offensive, or harmful content
  • Attempt to circumvent safety filters or content moderation
  • Upload photos of individuals without proper consent
  • Use the Service for any illegal purpose
  • Attempt to reverse-engineer, scrape, or automate access to the Service
  • Share account credentials with unauthorized users

8. AI-Generated Content Disclaimer

All stories and illustrations are generated by artificial intelligence. While we implement safety filters and content moderation:

  • AI-generated content may occasionally contain unexpected elements
  • Illustrations are artistic interpretations and may not perfectly match the uploaded photo
  • Story quality and appropriateness may vary — parents should review generated content
  • We continuously improve our safety measures but cannot guarantee perfection

9. Limitation of Liability

The Service is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. StarInMyStory shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from your use of the Service. Our total liability shall not exceed the amount you paid in the 12 months preceding the claim.

10. Changes to Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be communicated via email or in-app notification at least 30 days before taking effect. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance.

11. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of Singapore. Any disputes shall be resolved in the courts of Singapore.
